Holy Crap!
Talk about annoying weirdness! I just tried to implement some new stuff on Random Thoughts, and, man, was it a pain in the ass!

Plus, I had to change a bunch of stuff around with the comments... on top of that, I'm going to have to change the comment posting page to match the rest of the blog on all of them.

Yeah, I'm anal and weird like that... ^^;;

Playing with New Stuff
Okay, enabled comments, title, and link... I also put archiving for monthly. However, I have to have post pages enabled in order to have comments. If I want to turn off post pages, I have to turn off comments.

(post edit after changes made)
Very cool... The link is the title... which is good for news reporting. My archives list on the main page didn't change, but I think I have to republish the entire blog for that to change. We'll see later.

I have to play around with a few other things, but this will be fun. It's something I'll have to figure out how to integrate with Venting Insanity.

Okay... had a little fun with GMail today. I found out where I can report bugs. No suggestion area, though. I need to find that.

The help system is expansive. They've got a lot of stuff pretty well documented, it seems like. I really didn't look through everything... I was mainly looking for how to contact them about bug issues and send them feedback on stuff... which I was successful in doing.

Next time... to actually send that feedback. ^_^

Between G-Mail and all the new features that Blogger's dumped on its free users, I have tons of stuff to start looking at. One of these days, when I have some time, I'll sit down and really play with all the new settings.

Bloggers added the following:

Lots of new nifty things to play with. I'm excited!

I haven't had the time to really look at GMail lately... I'll probably spend some time with it over the summer. It'll be a project for me to play with.

testing again
I posted on Venting Insanity that I started up a GMail account to help out with the beta testing. I figured it would be fun and look good on a resume.

Since this was the blog I used to do beta testing with Blogger when they made their new interface, I haven't used it since they moved out of the beta stage and set up their full release. But... wha better place to post about more beta testing trials then on something that was once a beta testing project, right? At least this way, this blog isn't just taking up space on my server. I didn't want to get rid of it, I like the idea of a test blog... so I'm going to use it again for this.

Plus, there's no easily locatable area to report bugs in the GMail system, so this will have to do to log incidents until such time as I can find a place to report them to the right people.

That's something I'm going to have to work on.

Also... you can't add e-mail addresses to your contacts easily. You have to do it manually, like write the address on a paper and then type it into the address book. Outlook has an option where you can right-click on the address and select "Add to Contacts". Yahoo! Mail has an option that, if you reply to the person, you can add that address to your contact list by checking the little box next to their address.

I don't like having to do things the hard way. Yes, I'm lazy. :P

Anyway, I was just exploring the interface the other day. The contact list thing is the only problem I've had so far. Everything else seems to work. Of course, with 1 Gig worth of storage space, I don't know if I can fill that up and see what happens. I also want to play around with attachments.

That will come in the future.
